Frequently Asked Questions

  • All attendees, including book club members, need to purchase a ticket to access the event. This helps us manage the number of participants and provide the best experience for everyone.
  • We are thrilled that our book club has grown so much over the past year! Due to larger numbers of attendees, bars and restaurants now require us to secure our reservation with either an upfront fee or a credit card. This small fee helps us to ensure an accurate count for the venue or cover any losses.
  • We do not provide refunds. However, you may transfer your ticket to someone else who is able to attend
  • Tickets are only valid for the event stated on the ticket.
  • Upon completing your purchase, you will receive a confirmation email with your digital ticket. Please bring the digital version of your ticket to the event.
  • The ticket price covers admission to the event, access to the discussion and any additional book club materials. Ticket price does not cover any food or drink unless explicitly stated on the ticket and the event description.
  • There may be times when we have a food/drink minimum due to the size of our group. However, you are not required to purchase food or drink at the book club meetups. If you choose to purchase food or drink, please be aware there may be times when the venue will not provide separate checks. When this occurs, you will be asked to either Venmo or pay in cash before leaving the venue. We do expect anyone purchasing any food or drink to also pay for their portion of the server tip (generally 20%), tax and any miscellaneous service fees (generally 4-6%) charged by the venue.
  • We want to ensure discussion topics are relevant and relatable to our members. For this reason, our events are open to participants over 30 years of age.
  • Yes, you are welcome to attend regardless of where you are in your reading journey. We all have enough stress in our lives, we don't need reading stress as well! We do attempt to seat people who have read the book together so that they are able to discuss the book. Just be aware that the discussion may contain spoilers.

Each month we will have a monthly enology pour (or quick lesson on a wine topic) that may be discussed during our meetup as well.
  • Our discussions are not tightly structured. We take time at the beginning of the evening to get to know each other better and offer a kind ear to others in the group. We then share personal insights about the book, the characters and themes. We will touch on a few of the discussion questions. Each person is welcome to offer a topic to discuss. We will also chat about wine and the latest monthly enology pour.
  • Absolutely! We encourage members to suggest books for consideration. You may submit your book suggestions in January. The club votes on the books they want to read that year in February and our new yearly book list is shared in March.
